Just plain old crappie fishing with minnows..

Crappie Fishing on a private lake in Central Texas Saturday January 29, 2011. It really doesn’t get any better! Crazy good fishing! 45 crappie in about an hour and a half! It actually took longer to clean them then to catch them. Even caught one on a bare hook while I was putting one in the basket!

45 fish, we can only keep 10 in Minnesota. Almost not worth those long trips, sometimes when I think about it.

Yes, I agree. Or, no, I can’t dispute it. This sounds like one more way the government gets to tell us what to do because they think they’ve done something to help.

I NC you would not need a license to fish a privately owned and stocked lake. With that said in NC and NJ I found out that if you have a Private lake and buy to stock it with federal discounts. You would be required to have a license to fish your own waters. Now this sounds bout retarded as fishing for Sharks with a Cane Pole. Can anyone dispute this?

how far down is the minnow from the bobber?

this reminds me of bass/catfish fishing in a tank

Salt water is a separate charge. All water or just Freshwater.

  14. kingmackattack42 says:

I guess it’s the same here in Alabama, then again we sometimes have some pretty odd regs in this state. Does Texas require a saltwater license like we do here? Up until about 15 yrs. ago, anyone from anywhere could fish saltwater in ‘Bama without having to purchase a license.

  15. William B Tedrick says:

In Texas it is not necessary to have a fishing license if the body of water exists wholly within the private property. Most rivers and creeks cross through many different properties so to fish them you need a license. The only exception to this rule is in the state parks of Texas.

    Nice slabs, sir.
The reply you made about keeping fish over the legal limit in your own private pond made me curious about something else, does an individual have to possess a license just to fish in their own private body of water?

  17. William B Tedrick says:

It’s a private lake so no limits apply. Otherwise you’d be right 😉 See the Jailbait Story on my blog at theeagle.com

  18. mattheu111 says:

Yo ass going to jail. the limit is 25 ..be sure you only catch 25 cause you can get an 500 dollar ticket
