Actually They are in a different spot suspended each day….Little bit of both.

  2. Winkiedoodles says:

@brennanbanks4611 Maybe that’s where the crappie are hiding. Are you finding the crappie in the current or along the banks in the slack area?

  3. brennanbanks4611 says:

Yes the outlet is off limits…Ive been fishing it from the shore and doing very well…I will also occasionally wear my waders.

  4. Winkiedoodles says:

@brennanbanks4611 Are you talking about the warm water outlet? I thought that part was off limits to boats and kayaks….? Sure, paddle by and shout out; gotta love the fans (ha)! Don

@CASSCOMOSURVEYOR Hello, Roger, good to hear from you. Yes, the MS attractant sure seems to do the trick, so I’m not going to stop using it! I’ve never in my life caught this many crappie nor fished for them this time of the year so this is all exciting. Next year it will be ‘old hat’ of course, but right now just seeing success with a bunch of little crappie lures I had (rarely or never used) puts a smile on my face. Don

MEGA Strike(s) again. Yes, attractants do work. I once caught several consecutive Bass using fresh attractant each time I cast. Then I casted several times without the attractant, which resulted in no fish. Then went right back to the attractant and caught fish again. Thanks, Don. MEGA will Strike soon. Thanks to Matt, I have some in my tackle box.

@JohnS2150 Thanks. Just realizing how nifty those Float N Fly rigs are has really gotten me excited about using those tiny squirts and other little baits. The technique insantly overcomes the limiting issue of not being able to cast them very far. I believe I was using a Sony Cybershot in this vid.

  9. JohnS2150 says:

great video..been considering this style for some time now..what camera are you using?

  10. jeffersonstielflax99 says:

    never mind. Lake Springfield

  11. Winkiedoodles says:

@2011pb That’s exactly WAWS……, if you were wondering WWAS. Check out the second one, too, and the most recent puppy vid (it is so cute you will blubber your little eyes out). Stay safe and I hope they figure out there’s zilch wrong with your system and the gas you were smelling was simply bad sushi.

  12. Excllent work Don. You are the man. Not THE MAN, but the man. I’m THE MAN, as you know.

  13. Winkiedoodles says:

@seemyshell Thanks, mate! Nice comments; much appreciated. This is the first of the “Quad-Crappie Expo” (ha) videos I hope to have up in the next weeks. I count myself fortunate for deciding to get on the water and try to find the fish; they’ve been very cooperative lately!

  14. seemyshell says:

Another great video and some great fish by the master of Youtube…..
Keep up the great work, and I love the editing of your clips.
    All the best from Australia…

  15. Winkiedoodles says:

@BillGoudy Thanks, Bill. There must be more fish in that lake than the budget deficit. Glad I ventured out and discovered their whereabouts. I’ve been been invading their homeland…. just a touch….. recently, and finding some really nice ones. Sharing to follow; Leila sends a big woof-out to Zipper.

  16. BillGoudy says:

Don, You are Talk’n!! Great Video! Loved the pups too!!!

  17. Winkiedoodles says:

@vweeks181 Perhaps at first. I don’t know of any other rod/reel set up that can cast a 1/16 oz jig about 30-40 yards on a single cast, so It certainly serves its purpose. I’ll try to show how (relatively) easy it is to cast in future videos; the crappie are biting really well and now I know exactly where they are!

  18. Winkiedoodles says:

@UrbanAnglerMiami Hai, you know it! I’m using the expression “make hay while the sun shines” up hear and have been clobbering the crappie while we’ve had decent weather. That’s all about to change, which will give me a chance to compile a cool video or two. Sure has been fun; do you fish for crappie?

  19. UrbanAnglerMiami says:

I liked, great stuff man. Keep them coming!!!

  20. chihuahuabulldog says:

@Winkiedoodles I am a nut for feathers. I have some jars full of Mallard feathers. Most of them are small ones like in the video. I have some green-iridescent feathers as well. I had some in an old plastic peanut butter jar on the back porch, and the plumber replacing the water meter (in the ground) used the jar to get water out. I guess he thought I was saving those feathers just for him to throw into the wind, huh? I have more though, haha! Let me know when you need some of ’em.

  21. vweeks181 says:

    @Winkiedoodles Ohh, 10’6″ sounds a bit intimidating!

  22. pelletgun12 says:

@Winkiedoodles Now im excited, hotdigity dog! In all honesty look forward to your next video

  23. Winkiedoodles says:

@FishermanKansas Thanks, Ethan! These fish wanted nothing to do with Crappie Flutters (oh, yes, I tried). This sounds odd to say, but for more than a decade I could have/should have been catching winter Crappie down here. Several factors have come together (the reasonable temperatures, having a pontoon/kick boat, having float-n-fly gear, having cold weather gear) that gave me the courage to give it a try. Oh, yes, I’ve caught a mess since this video! More to follow. Don.

  24. FishermanKansas says:

    Catch-em Team strikes again!

  25. Winkiedoodles says:

@fishingmaster13 Thanks, guys. Those flies are sort of a cross between a fly and a jig. They were exactly what those crappie wanted. I’ll show more, and different, flies coming up in future vids; the crappie are tearing them up!
